To increase consumer access and knowledge of fresh and nutritious foods and to build a sustainable food economy. This provides greater food security for all in Caswell County as it supports local farmers while creating jobs and prosperity.
Our Programs
Caswell County Farmers Market
The Caswell County Farmers Market runs late April through September on Thursdays 4-6:30 pm. The 2026 Thanksgiving Market is November 12, 3-5:30. The Christmas Market will be at the Annual Tree Lighting Festival on Friday, December 4, 5-8:30pm.
COMMUNITY LUNCHEON PROGRAM
The Caswell County Local Food Council provides a complimentary lunch for the community on the third Wednesday of each month. Locally grown ingredients are featured in the meal and the event often includes a community member group providing updates and details on their activities.
Inspected kitchen
In partnership with the Semora Ruritans, the Caswell County Local Food Council manages a NC Dept of Agriculture inspected kitchen for farmers to produce value added products to sell.
